President’s Message – Fall 2018

Dear members and friends.

So glorious that Fall is here … Can you feel the nip in the air? It’s that time when people begin to get more serious and begin planning and thinking about their goals and their giving as Christmas is approaching … and we at PACE are no exception.

We said goodbye to Bromley Armstrong one of PACE Canada’s founders and supporters and we wish to thank Marlene Armstrong and his family for asking friends and family to donate funds in his name.

Congratulations are in order to Delores Lawrence, a strong and committed PACE supporter, as she will be receiving the Order of Distinction, Rank of Officer, for outstanding contribution to the Jamaican Diaspora in Ontario, Canada. Very well deserved indeed!

We are gearing up for our annual AAS Parish Pop Up to be held on Nov 3rd 2018. This is an opportunity for many to hear about PACE Canada, the work we do, and to think about giving to assist our PACE adopted schools. We also would like to encourage new donors to adopt a school.

This year we are also trying a new initiative to raise funds and we do need you to come out to see Soulful Messiah on Friday December 7th at the Fleck Theatre.

We again want to thank everyone who has reached out to us; made a donation; supported their school; became a new member or rejoined us and we are continuing our goal of increasing the number of adopted schools as the need is great – as always!

So some housekeeping:
1. Membership dues/Admin fees are used to administer the PACE office and for mail-outs and the any number of initiatives that require monies to help us achieve our goals.

2. Tax receipts will be sent out once per year (by end of Jan/Feb) each year as per CRA guidelines.
If you donate online, receipts are immediately downloadable so this is also a great option for those tech savvy donors/sponsors.

Again we ask you to dig deep and if you can, add an additional $5.00; $10.00 $20 or 30.00 to your donation as a one-time contribution or as a monthly donation. All will be gratefully received.

Thanks always to our members who know we need their funds not only to do the work of the organization but because they know it is important to be involved! We are asking you all, you who have supported us through the years to invite others to join us to make all these goals a reality.

Thanks to our Board members who take the time to do the work.

I look forward to seeing you at the AAS Pop Up event on Nov 3rd and on Dec 7th at Soulful Messiah
So again, thank you all and I end as I always do: know that we do make a difference in the lives of children-the most important work of all.

Thank you

Sandra Whiting
