Teacher Training in Jamaica

It is estimated that 2,000 early childhood practitioners have not received the minimum level of training required for certification. Since 2011, PACE Canada, in partnership with HEART / National Training Agency and the Early Childhood Commission, has been providing opportunities for early childhood practitioners to receive training and certification.

In cooperation with the Early Childhood Commission in Jamaica, the Phyllis Walker PACE Teacher Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing studies in childhood education.
