President’s Message November 2023

Dear Members, Supporters, Partners and Friends,

Once again it is very exciting to announce that our in-person fundraising events are back.

Our next event will be on November 19th, at the Old Mill Inn, and we look forward to seeing you there. All the details about the luncheon, and links to ticket purchases are posted on our events page.

Proceeds from this luncheon will go towards the acquisition of the next batch of OneTab devices, and we continue to work with Marjorie Straw (author of the Amazon Best-Selling book Suzy The Curious Snail: Explores the Garden) to achieve this goal. She was recently interviewed on the Jamaican television program “Sunrise” where she talked about her collaboration project with PACE. The interview has been posted to their YouTube channel.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Beryl Nugent, who along with the late Raphaelita Walker, was an active sponsor for the Highholburn Street Basic School in Kingston. We offer condolences to her family and friends.

Congratulations to PACE Canada Patron, Dr. Rita Cox. In June the Queen Victoria Public School, in Parkdale, was renamed Dr. Rita Cox-Kina Minagok Public School.

Winners of the PACE Jamaica 60th contest challenge were announced at an event on March 24th in Kingston, and since then the lunches were delivered to the various schools.

Thank you all for your continued support in Helping Young Children Succeed through the efforts of PACE Canada and our partners and community.

Diana Burke,

President P.A.C.E. (Canada)
